What is the purpose?

Recall helps track competitor placements across time and a multitude of Balboa festivals. It also recommends level based on placements and flags potential concerns.

How does this work?

We assume competitors who place out of a competition type (Am Strictly) can still enter other competition types in the same division (Am Mixed), but are strongly encouraged to level up.

Where is this data coming from?

All data is sourced from websites, YouTube, RP Scoring, or other festival scoresheets. Pure Balboa, Slow Balboa, Switch, and Invitational divisions are exempt from this project. Everything you see here is already public, simply aggregated in a single place for easy viewing!

What type of data is shown?

The majority of the festivals we show data for meet the following criteria:

• Mid to large sized attendance
• Have GREATER than one level of competition for any one division (am + open or adv + open, etc.)

There are some exceptions to this rule. Any data we don't show is largely due to missing scoresheets/placements for a specific year or division(s).

Why nothing older than 2020?

Intentional. Our data only goes back as far as 2020, for now.

Why does this exist?

To view all historical competition data in one place and to help answer the eternal question: What “level” am I and in which division should I compete in?

We base our RECOMMENDATIONS off of competition descriptions and always recommend you VERIFY by contacting your festival and reading the level/competition descriptions carefully.

Who is this for?

This tool is both for competitors and festival organizers alike.

What if I compete in multiple roles?

We do not track roles, mostly because of the manual legwork involved in validating all the data. If you compete in multiple roles, you may be flagged with a "concern" incorrectly.
